Our wines

The winery is picturesquely situated in the heart of the polder in North Brabant. Heenwerf Estate specialises in sparkling quality wines, which are produced and bottled in its own winery using the Méthode Traditionnelle.

Through secondary fermentation in the bottle

— depending on the Cuvée, this takes at least 9, 12 or 24 months — we ensure that the full range of flavours develops and that the bubbles evolve into a beautiful, fine pearl.

Our elegant wines are made from hand-picked grapes harvested in our own vineyard. Our vineyard covers 3 hectares and was planted in 2016–2017 with the varieties Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gamaret.

The sandy loam soil along the Baak in Kruisland, the climate in the polder and the classic wine grape varieties are key to the ‘terroir’ of our wines.

We are convinced that our passion and our constant pursuit of quality can be tasted in the wine.

No, we’d never made wine before

Fate led us to this beautiful spot as if it were meant to be. In our search for a home to buy, we just couldn’t find the right fit amongst the properties on offer in Belgium. We crossed the border and discovered that there were fewer traffic jams, more natural beauty and a greater sense of peace and quiet. That was exactly what we were looking for.
